ORIGINE

Our coffees from Brazil are the result of a trusting partnership created over the years with a selection of Brazilian producers, allowing us to offer you traceable coffees at a fair price for each player in the sector.

The Fazenda do Engenho is located in the Mantiqueira de Minas region of Brazil. Cultivated between 1000 and 1200 meters, this coffee of the variety Catuai Yellow is processed in the Pulped Natural method.

Owned by José Victor Bernardes and Maria Célia Chaib Sousa Bernardes, the farm enjoys a rich family history, with coffee production starting in the 1930s. Since the 90s, significant investments have allowed the introduction of new infrastructures and technologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality of coffees in Engenho.

PROCESS

The Fazenda Do Engenho processes its coffees according to the Pulped Natural method. This majority process practiced in Brazil is similar to the honey method. After harvesting, the coffee cherries are partially depulped, leaving part of the pulp on the grain before drying. This process results in a cup that is both soft and sweet, with a good balance between the acidity of washed coffee and the sweetness of plain coffee. The aromas are often softer, with fruity notes and a silky texture. It therefore lends itself perfectly to preparation in espresso.
