Discover the new method to extract your coffee cold.

What is Cold Extraction?

This is a preparation method that, unlike conventional methods, uses cold water. The coffee is infused slowly between 8 and 24 hours. The difference with iced coffee is that it uses espresso or filter type coffee to which ice cubes are added to cool it quickly.

Benefits of Cold Brew Coffee vs. Iced Coffee

Iced coffee will allow you to have a fresh coffee quickly but risks causing thermal shocks which can denature the coffee. Cold extraction does not have this disadvantage since the water is already cold. The infusion will take longer but will respect the characteristics of your coffee.

Another advantage of cold coffee, during the long infusion of the coffee, the water will have had time to bring out all the aromatic notes of your coffee. The result in cup will result in an aromatic explosion in the mouth.

The Hario Filter-in is in addition to being easy to use, easy to clean, since all parts are removable and dishwasher safe. In addition, its bottle shape makes it easy to store in the door of your fridge while infusing or tasting.

For optimal results, our coffee experts advise you to take between 55-70gr of ground coffee (Chemex type grind) in 700ml of water and let it infuse for a minimum of 8 hours. Depending on the coffees, you will obtain better results by letting your coffee infuse longer. Don't hesitate to let it infuse for a day in your fridge, stirring occasionally.
