WOMEN COFFEE

Straight from the land of Limmu Kossa near the village of Wolensu, this natural coffee is produced by Genet Seifu.

She cultivates on 100 hectares under forest cover and employs 14 full-time workers on her farm and up to 200 during the peak of the harvest.

We have decided to support the producers by identifying their coffees with a small logo WOMEN COFFEE. Why ?

Because women play a vital role for the sector, they have a strong
involvement in the farms and represent more than 70% of the workforce in the fields, the harvest, the sorting of the grains…

However, only 10% of them are entrepreneurs and only 20% are landowners (including co-ownership with their spouses).

Increasing the income of women producers has a direct and positive impact on education children and the comfort of home

The Limmu Kossa terroir is located in the Oromo region, about 80 km north of the city of Jimma, within the appellation of the same name.

This natural coffee is collected in a forest made up of various and ancient species. The richness of the soils and the environment of this region gives its specificity to this coffee prepared by the Dabessa brothers.

Children of the country, these 2 brothers have developed their coffee activity for ten years and now sell their production internationally.

The name “Limmu” is traditionally associated with washed coffee from the Jimma region because that was the name given to the first washing station in this area. By distinction, the natural coffees were called “Jimma”.

Here, we therefore add the Jimma terminology to that of the “Limmu Kossa” terroir to distinguish this natural forest coffee, certified organic farming. In
this terroir coffee growing, through the value it brings to the spaces
foresters, plays in their maintenance.

The association of agricultural production and environmental preservation, specific to these areas, motivated our teams all the more for the selection of this coffee with fruity notes.

All our coffees are packaged in 100% renewable resource packs and are guaranteed plastic-free
